The Edinburgh Karate Academy runs classes in Buckstone & Fairmilehead (Edinburgh South).
We are affiliated to Shukokai International, headed by Shihan Kunio Miyake.
The Club is open to new members and we welcome you to get in touch (contact page) and to attend our sessions.
The first 2 lessons are free.
Exercise ranges from conventional such as situps through stretching and breathing exercises. All sessions start with a comprehensive warm up and end with a warm down.
This is in a controlled manner and tailoured towards the individual. Flexibility, co-ordination and balance are known to improve with Karate training.
Self defence is taught as a part of the art and students are encouraged to react in pressure situations.
